PLANTS






Plants are living things. They respire, grow and reproduce. 



1.PARTS OF A PLANT

These are the main parts of a flowering plant.




- The roots absorbs water and minerals.

- The stem supports the leaves and flowers.

- The fruit contains seeds.

- Each seed contains an embryo plant.

- The sap transports water and nutrients.

- The leaf makes food for the plant.

- The bud opens and becomes a flower.

- The flower forms the fruit and seeds.

SEED PLANTS

1.ANGIOSPERMS  

 
Orange tree

This is an angiosperm. It's a seed plant. Angiosperms have flowers, fruit and seeds. About 80% of all plants on earth are angiosperms.

2.GYMNOSPERMS

Pine tree

This is a gymnosperm. It's a seed plant. Gymnosperms don't have fruit. The seeds are in the cones.

NON-SEED PLANTS:


1.FERNS


 This is a fern. It's a non-seed plant. Ferns usually have underground stems and long divided leaves. They have roots. They don't have seeds. They have spores.
